Founded in 1980 in Belgium the company has over 25 years
experience in ecological cleaning using innovative

A trendsetter from the very start, Ecover as a
pioneering company, marketed a phosphate-free washing
powder even before phosphates were branded as a problem.
Having developed into the world’s largest producer of
ecological detergents and cleansing products, with the
company’s head office in Belgium, Ecover has sites in
the United States of America, the United Kingdom and
Switzerland, and its products are marketed in more than
20 countries.
Ecover is the UK’s and worlds biggest selling
ecological cleaning brand and the products it sells
demonstrate Ecover’s progressive environmental policy.
The company is ISO14001 certificated and has extended
its environmental policy to all departments of the
company, from production to marketing.
Principles extend by Ecover go beyond their products;
they buy material from sustainable sources, support fair
trade and drive hybrid cars.
Ecover develops and produces its products in the
world’s first ecological factory built in 1992 from
recycled and recyclable materials. It is energy
efficient, recycles its water, produces almost no waste
and has a grass roof extending over more than 6000m2
which supports a wild flower garden and effectively
insulates the Ecover factory drawing more than a
thousand visitors every year.
Ecover has received awards and recognition for its
special contributions and achievements in the field of
environmentally sound, sustainable development including
being named to the Global 500 Roll of Honour of the
United Nations Environment Program, which was awarded to
Ecover in 1993.

Specially developed for use in the catering
environment, the Ecover Professional range is un-scented
and un-coloured and offers the additional support of a

assist non-speaking staff.
